Have a Merry "Come-Back" Christmas

Wherever you are in life, you can do more and be better than you are now.
Christmas is a time for new beginnings, not New Years.
It's a time to forgive those who've wronged us, and to drop the baggage of bitterness we've carried for way too long already.
Sometimes, it's a time to ask for forgiveness from the people we have wronged.
So slow down a little and take time to pause and reflect on what life's really all about anyway.
It's not about who can buy the most stuff.
It's not about inflating our own egos.
It's not about trampling all over others so you can have "your rights".
Make a fresh start today!

Family reconciliation

This time of year there are many shattered families out there.  Many live many miles apart, while others live in the same house.
"Healing the brokenhearted" is important to all who are affected by these situations, and it may take more than we are capable of as individuals.
Often times we here of tragedies like this past week, but many others suffer in silence from broken families.
Take heart, there is hope. Don't isolate yourself during difficult times, even though sometimes solitude has its' merits. Surround yourself with a few true friends (real people, not just "friends" on a website).
Good can come to you in time, hang in there.
With GOD'S help, reconciliation is possible.

You are unstoppable

No matter what has messed you up in the past, you don't have to carry it around forever .

Making peace with your past

The past is a terrible place to live if all you see is your mistakes and failures.
Let's face it, everyone messes up.
Some get over it, and move on in life and others wallow in self-pity, fear,  or shame.
To have a decent life now you have to get your mind straightened out and quit looking in the rear-view mirror every day.
Could you drive your car that way?
Prayer and meditation (quiet time alone) can do wonders. GOD can handle what you can't.
Make peace with your past, try giving someone else some encouragement today. You'll be glad you did!

Staying in the fight

There have been several excellent books out in the last few years about the Navy SEALS, and there are several reoccurring themes throughout all of them. One is that you must stay in the fight no matter what happens until your very last breath. Read "Lone Survivor" by Marcus Luttrell or "Fearless" by Eric Blehm to see how men did that in real life. No matter how many times these men were wounded, they never quit firing at the enemy. So what about the rest of us who aren't SEALS?
Good question! The same thing still applies.
No matter what life throws at you, you must continue to fight on towards your breakthrough. If you get knocked down, get up. If you get knocked down again, get up again; for as many times as it takes.
Anyone can quit in life, the world is full of quitters and wusses.
Do you want to be counted as one of them?
NO WAY!!!!!!! Stay in the fight!!!!!

Guest posts are welcome

If you have a story about a great "come-back", preferably your own, contact me about doing a guest post, okay?
True stories from history are also welcome.
Remember, this blog is for you!

What's your story?

Everyone would probably say that they have their challenges (unless they are lying to themselves, then they have that challenge too).
I have heard some amazing true stories from people over the years about how they were knocked by life, but kept getting back up.
These stories are as varied as the people telling them, but they are all inspiring.
Some have been written about, like Adam Brown's amazing come-back from drugs to become a Navy SEAL. Read "Fearless" by Eric Blehm, it will grip your attention.
Or maybe, Dave Roevers, "Scars That Heal", which is about journey back from serious combat injuries that happened when a white phosphorous grenade blew up in his face.
Maybe your story is not that dramatic, that's okay, be glad you didn't have to go through what these men did.
Whatever you have fought your back from, feel free to share it here.
All posts will be reviewed and any abusive posts will be deleted immediately.

Real stories of real people who fought back and won

This young guy has overcome some serious stuff in his life.
You might think, "How bad could it have been at such a young age?"
Let me just put it this way, most people would have just given up, he didn't.
How about you?
I hope you are finding hope in your day and moving on towards some good things in your life.

This blog is dedicated to you, and you are not alone

Each person has their own struggles and challenges. Often times we feel that no one else is going through what we are. At times we draw back into isolation, and that makes things worse yet.
Our fears get multiplied out of proportion when we do that.
So, be encouraged this morning, you are not alone.
I am not a "shrink" or a counselor, I'm just a guy who got knocked flat by life and got back up again (and again).
Today my life is going very well, and so can yours.
I'm no expert but what worked for me may work for you, so let's take this journey together.
Check back often for fitness tips, articles, true stories, and a little humor thrown in along the way.
Sign up for our "Come-Back" Strength newsletter today, and let's get on to the next step of our journey!
